404: Cycles of the Stream

Digital Media Research · Spatial Narrative Design

Description

As a gaming enthusiast, I frequently browse and engage with livestreaming and video platforms. Since I first watched livestream clips nine years ago, I have witnessed countless streamers and online creators gradually fade from the digital ecosystem. Their trajectories rarely follow a linear path; instead, they are shaped by fluctuations, interruptions, and unexpected turns influenced by algorithms and shifting audience patterns.

For this project, I used New Art City as the medium for a virtual exhibition. Through 3D modeling, scenic art design, and virtual spatial composition, I reconstructed the evolving journeys of several representative creators—Aono, Orianna’s Smile, Tingquan Treasure Appraisal, and Wuyou Media. These four narratives are placed in parallel corridors within a shared virtual space, illustrating how individual lives intersect with media systems and how visibility, decline, transition, and rebirth map onto the broader dynamics of online culture.
